THE BIO
Sarah J. Willetts is an experienced family-law and criminal-defense attorney who practices primarily from Wilburn Law Office's Cumberland, Maryland office, serving clients throughout Allegany County, Western Maryland, and North-Central West Virginia.
A lifelong Allegany County resident, Sarah has built her career in the community she calls home. Although she joined Wilburn Law Office in 2026, Sarah remains based primarily in Cumberland and continues to represent clients throughout the region from the firm's Cumberland office.
Before joining Wilburn Law Office, Sarah practiced for several years as a partner with Noonan Willetts, Attorneys at Law. Her relationship with that firm began much earlier, when she interned there while completing her undergraduate studies. After law school, returning to Allegany County was a natural choice that allowed her to begin her legal career while remaining close to her family and community.
Sarah concentrates her practice in family and criminal law. She provides clients with steady guidance, practical solutions, and strong advocacy while helping them navigate legal problems that can significantly affect their families, freedom, and futures.
Licensed in both Maryland and West Virginia, Sarah's practice extends across the I-68 corridor from the Hagerstown area through Western Maryland and into North-Central West Virginia, including the Morgantown area. Her location in Cumberland provides Wilburn Law Office with a permanent presence in Western Maryland and allows Sarah to continue serving the clients and communities with whom she has worked throughout her career.
Sarah graduated from Allegany High School before earning her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Frostburg State University in 2009. She earned her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 2014.
Sarah is a member of both the Maryland and West Virginia State Bar Associations. Her longstanding connection to Western Maryland, familiarity with the communities she serves, and commitment to accessible, client-centered representation remain central to her practice.
